In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. He was in the beginning with God. All things were made through him, and without him was not any thing made that was made. In him was life, and the life was the light of men. The light shines in the darkness, and the darkness has not overcome it
Many books such as Revelation, Matthew (ch 24), Ezekiel, Daniel, and Isaiah all give us an idea of what is going to happen. The world gets ugly before its over, but there is hope - and its in Gods Word. Gods Word is an extension of himself like how a son is an extension of a father.
Jesus told us the foundation of who we are needs to be founded on Him (He is the Rock: Psalm 18:31, and we are a house: 1 Corinthians 6:19)
We are told of a global economic collapse at a time of peril for the planet; and a time of counterfiet religion based on the likeness of Jess Christ, but filled with violence and falsehood. Knowing what the scriptures say about this time when supernatual activity will become known to all, and knowing the Savior will help keep us save as well as unconfused.
God is faithful, just like the rock a lightouse is built upon. We can count on him always, and especially when the waves of the sea (peoples, nations, languages: Revelation 17:15) are in turmoil. In the same way, knowing what the Scriptures say will keep us immovable even when faced with a counterfiet.
Undrstanding bible symbolism unlocks the layered meanings in what the word says. This can be important in both sorting truth from error, and seeing the deeper meanings in what is written.
For God speaks in one way and in two, though man does not perceive it.
To be like a fruitful tree, we need Gods grace, and that comes in the form of the Holy Spirit. God always speaks in patterns, one's he has created - so in the same likeness of delicious fruit tree that needs to be watered to bear fruit, God has promised to pour out his Spirit on us during those last days of this earth. In Matthew 4, Jeus said "Bear fruit in keeping with repentance", and it is the Lords Spirit who brings repentance, understanding, and leads us to love.
Having received the latter rain (the pouring out of Gods Spirit) we will be fully prepared for what is to come whether we rest a while or endure to the end. Then we will all be raised together and changed in the twinkling of an eye to rest with God on his 1000 year Sabbath (Revelation 20 and 2 Peter 3) where we will surely learn of the beauty and deeper meaning of the Pattern, Gods Word.
And after that, God will bring the New Jerusalem (a city 1380 miles tall long and wide: Revelation 21) back to the earth to live with us and recreate the universe after the judgement.
For eternity, the Pattern (Jesus Christ) will rule as King of kings in the the city and body of people that is his symbolic wife. There will be no more tears, no more sorrow, no more destruction, we will only have peace and be full of joy. You might imagine we will look out at the stars in the universe and say, "we are truly at the center of Gods great creation".
You shall be called the priests of the LORD;
they shall speak of you as the ministers of our God;
you shall eat the wealth of the nations,
and in their glory you shall boast.
Instead of your shame there shall be a double portion;
instead of dishonor they shall rejoice in their lot;
therefore in their land they shall possess a double portion;
they shall have everlasting joy.
For I the LORD love justice; I hate robbery and wrong;
I will faithfully give them their recompense,
and I will make an everlasting covenant with them.
Their offspring shall be known among the nations,
and their descendants in the midst of the peoples;
all who see them shall acknowledge them,
that they are an offspring the LORD has blessed.
I will greatly rejoice in the LORD;
my soul shall exult in my God,
for he has clothed me with the garments of salvation;
he has covered me with the robe of righteousness,
as a bridegroom decks himself like a priest with a beautiful headdress,
and as a bride adorns herself with her jewels.
For as the earth brings forth its sprouts,
and as a garden causes what is sown in it to sprout up,
so the Lord GOD will cause righteousness and praise to sprout up before all the nations.
Only those who have had their sins washed away by the blood of the Lamb will enter the New Jerusalem. Christ is faithful to his family, and he will never do you wrong. His love is so deep that it surpasses all knowledge (Ephesians 3).
Whatever was written in former days was written for our instruction, that through endurance and through the encouragement of the Scriptures we might have hope.
The LORD appeared to him from far away. I have loved you with an everlasting love; therefore I have continued my faithfulness to you. 4Again I will build you, and you shall be built,
God is love, and whoever abides in love abides in God, and God abides in him. By this is love perfected with us, so that we may have confidence for the day of judgment, because as He is so also are we in this world. There is no fear in love, but perfect love casts out fear. For fear has to do with punishment, and whoever fears has not been perfected in love.
Being willing to suffer is fruitful - if we stay faithful to the end, it means we have love in us.
But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, self-control; against such things there is no law.
God never lies.
You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind. This is the great and first commandment. And the second is like it: You shall love your neighbor as yourself. On these two commandments depend all the Law and the Prophets. --Jesus
